Camping in a Mediterranean garden on the slopes of Etna

A 19th century farmhouse nestled among olive trees, with a Mediterranean bush garden inspired by low environmental impact permaculture design. The farmhouse houses a Bed and Breakfast, while the garden is used for garden sharing. In the garden there are three compost toilets with washbasin and bidet, two solar showers (so hot water is not always guaranteed) and a small outdoor kitchenette with gas cooker, sink, refrigerator, pantry and electricity connection. It will be possible to pitch tents under the olive trees in the area of your choice, while for campers and caravans there is a large earthen field at the edges of which grow trees that provide shade in the morning. The whole garden is an area of 5000 m2 so there is plenty of space and privacy is guaranteed. The farmhouse is located in a country area outside the village so it is best to have a vehicle to visit the area, although it is possible to walk to a path from here. It can be reached from Catania by AST or FCE bus (Borrello stop), the bus stop in the village is 3 km from the farmhouse: on request I can pick you up from the bus stop, on foot it is a bit of a climb! By car we are 20 minutes from Rifugio Sapienza (cable car to the central craters), 35 min from Catania, 1h from Siracusa, 1h from Taormina, 40 min from Riviera dei Ciclopi (Acireale), 20 min from Valle del Simeto, 25 min from Serra la Nave observatory. There is a riding school nearby and it is possible to book horse riding trips.
